Seventeen years ago I bought the bedraggled Lake Rabun Hotel. It had a fabulous history and was loved by the community, but it had seen its better days and was now slowly sliding down the mountains. I, too, loved it from the moment I opened the door. I loved the uniqueness and craftsmanship of it and as I slowly walked around, it convinced me that it had to be saved.

Across the road was beautiful Lake Rabun descending from the mountains. Natures soothing and energizing powers were everywhere I looked. I knew I belonged here and I knew I had a job to do.

I have seen thousands of guests arrive and leave over the years and have noticed the changes in them. A certain relaxation and state of well being . A presentness and focus in their eyes. A smile of gratitude.

Our services are oriented toward getting people out into nature. We have recommended hiking trails, boating and a host of other interesting activities . Many guests just want to take it easy – lay back and enjoy nothing scheduled, experience an inner stillness and calm.

Dine on Great Food. Our award-winning restaurant serves locally grown food that’s healthy and flavorful. Creatively prepared seasonal specials are on the menu every week!
